Gruifomes

Gruiformes is a large and diverse order. There are 19 families in the order. Two of these families consist of only one species, the sunbittern and limpkin. These two families may belong in separate orders. The largest family is Railidae which contains Rails, Gallinules and Coots. The most distinguishing characteristic is the absence of a crop.
