There are 36 species of cats in the world. The can be found on every continent except for Australia and Antarctica. They are also absent from most islands except those in southeast Asia. Cats are the ultimate predator. They are much more carnivorous than the other families in the order. Most cats eat exclusively meat. The dental formula is 3131/3121
